According to a recent national poll of voters, President Biden is currently ahead of former President Trump by a small margin. This lead becomes slightly larger when focusing on those who are certain to vote in November.
A recent poll by Marist/PBS NewsHour showed that Biden is currently leading Trump among registered voters. In this poll, Biden had 51 percent support, while Trump had 48 percent. This is a small increase from a previous poll that had Biden at 50 percent and Trump at 48 percent.
The poll shows that Biden’s lead increases to 53 percent to 47 percent when only considering those who are certain they will vote in the November election.
Among voters who are not affiliated with a political party, both men have the same level of support at 49 percent. Additionally, 2 percent of these voters have not yet made up their minds.
Biden is still ahead in the poll, even when they included independent and third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein.

Even with those three candidates included, Biden is still ahead of Trump among registered voters, with a lead of 43% to 38%. Kennedy has 14% support. Kennedy received the support of 8 percent of Democrats, 10 percent of Republicans, and 27 percent of independents, according to a survey.
The survey asked 1,192 adults, including 1,047 registered voters, questions from April 16-18. This means the survey happened during the first week of Trump’s trial for hush money in New York City. The poll’s margin of error is 3.4 percentage points.
Biden’s popularity has increased in national polls over the past few weeks, and he is now tied with Trump according to a Decision Desk HQ/The Hill average of national polls. The close polls indicate that the upcoming election between Biden and Trump is expected to be a close one, just like the 2020 race that Biden won.
Trump has received more favorable polling results in battleground states. According to Decision Desk HQ averages, Trump is currently ahead in Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina. On the other hand, Biden is doing better in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
