New Orleans Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Suspect Accused of Indecent Behavior with a Minor

The New Orleans Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit has made a public appeal for help in tracking down a man accused of indecent behavior with a minor. The suspect, identified as Matthew Young, a Black male born on October 11, 1965, is the subject of an active arrest warrant in connection with the ongoing investigation involving inappropriate conduct with a juvenile under the age of 13, as reported by NOPD News.

In addition to the current charges, Matthew Young has emerged as a person of interest in a separate sexual battery case, for which investigators have also issued a buccal swab search warrant in an attempt to gather DNA evidence while the NOPD has described Young as 5 feet 8 inches in height with brown eyes and a weight of approximately 132 pounds; his last known whereabouts was in the area of the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

The NOPD has called upon anyone with information regarding Matthew Young or the investigations to step forward, providing contact details for the Child Abuse Unit at (504) 658-5267 and offering the option to remain anonymous when submitting tips through Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. 

The notice of the search emphasizes that all individuals, including Matthew Young, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
