No Fare, No Worries: Free Valley Metro Rides on New Year’s Eve

PHOENIX — Valley Metro is teaming up with Coors Light to ensure revelers can celebrate responsibly on New Year’s Eve by offering free public transportation.

Starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, and continuing until the end of service early Wednesday morning, riders can hop on light rail and bus services at no cost. No tickets are required during this period, allowing passengers to travel freely to and from their destinations while avoiding the need to drive.

Light rail and streetcar operations will maintain their regular weekday schedules but extend service until 2 a.m. to accommodate New Year’s Eve festivities. Buses will also run on their normal weekday schedule that evening.

New Year’s Day Service Adjustments

For those planning to use public transportation on New Year’s Day, January 1, Valley Metro will operate on a Sunday schedule. Express and RAPID services will not run, and Valley Metro’s customer service office will be closed.

This initiative aims to encourage safe and convenient travel during one of the busiest nights of the year. Valley Metro, with support from Coors Light, hopes this service will help riders enjoy their celebrations responsibly and return home safely.
