North Las Vegas Police Trade Badges for Jerseys at 4th Annual Turkey Bowl Community Event

When local police officers trade in their uniforms for jerseys and go to the field at Legacy High School tomorrow, the North Las Vegas community will get the chance to see friendship in action. Members of the North Las Vegas Police Department will play a friendly flag football match against high school students during the 4th Annual Turkey Bowl. Xavier Grimble and Brandon Marshall, both locals of Las Vegas and former NFL players, will coach the teams in an effort to promote sportsmanship and a sense of community.

Tomorrow’s Turkey Bowl is set to stretch from midday until four o’clock, giving plenty of time for celebrations that will feature music, food, and halftime entertainment from a local DJ. The City of North Las Vegas claims that the event serves as a bridge as well as a sporting event, allowing officers and citizens to interact in an attempt to humanize the badge, encourage constructive dialogue, and highlight the importance of law enforcement in preserving public safety.

Interestingly, Grimble and Marshall both want to use their work experiences to motivate and inspire the students they will be mentoring. Grimble, who has an amazing history of his own, and Marshall, a Super Bowl 50 champion, want to guide these young players.

The Turkey Bowl aims to attract a crowd to support their preferred team, whether it be law enforcement or children, by offering free admission. Families and people alike can look forward to an exciting afternoon at the game, which is located at 150 W. Deer Springs Way.
