The City of North Las Vegas has partnered with Nevada Plants for a tree giveaway to improve community health and address environmental issues like the Urban Heat Island effect. The event, part of the city’s effort for sustainable living, will distribute desert-adapted fruit trees and other types to help increase tree canopy coverage and combat food insecurity. The giveaway will offer 50 trees, ranging from 5 to 15 gallons, on a first-come, first-served basis, so residents are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they get a tree, according to the
