Notable Women in Design | Crain’s Detroit Business

about the program

Design surrounds us.

Almost every image and object in our physical environment has been designed and combines form and function, art and technology in a way that is often invisible to consciousness.

At best, design just works. And so did our first notable women in design.

Our award winners range from architecture and graphic design to fashion and industrial design. They run companies, make things possible and, above all, create images, objects and ideas that have never been seen before.

METHODOLOGY: The women featured in this “Notable Women in Design” report were selected by a team of Crains Detroit Business Editors based on their professional achievements, track record in the field, contributions to their community, and care for others, as detailed Nomination set out forms submitted by Crains readers.

Notable Women in Design was managed and written by Leslie D. Green. If you have any questions about this special report, please contact Michael Lee at [email protected].
