DDN – A New York City bus driver misjudged a curve and smashed into a low stone wall near an overpass on Friday morning, bringing the vehicle to a halt with its front end hanging over the road below, according to authorities. There were no injuries.
A Fire Department spokesman stated that the driver was the only occupant.

Around 8:40 a.m., the driver of the BxM1 bus, an express commuter bus that runs between Riverdale in the Bronx and Midtown Manhattan, missed a turn at Independence Avenue and Kappock Street in the Spuyten Duyvil neighborhood of the Bronx.
He lost control of the vehicle, which “skidded over the stone wall,” according to authorities. “The front portion of the bus is hanging over the road.”
According to authorities, the bus was heading southbound on the Henry Hudson Parkway’s west service road, which connects the Bronx to Manhattan. According to images from local media sites, rubble from the broken wall fell into the road beneath the overpass.

Firefighters and emergency law enforcement officers responded to the area, causing a commotion on a local social media platform.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which oversees public transportation in New York City, redirected buses along the route.
