Ocean View Man Charged with Terroristic Threatening After Gunfire Incident

An Ocean View man has been charged with a crime after an altercation that turned violent. According to a report from the Hawaii Police Department, Bradford Borum, 49, is accused of a number of crimes after a conflict on Monday, including terroristic threatening and criminal property damage.

According to detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section, the disturbance started at 1:30 p.m. when a 42-year-old man went to a house on Trade Wind Boulevard to talk to his ex-girlfriend. This sparked a furious argument, during which Borum stepped in and asked the victim to leave. When the victim tried to flee, Borum took out a gun and fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle.

Both the victim and Borum’s partner, the victim’s ex-girlfriend, called the police after the victim reported the shooting. She informed police that the victim had visited her current boyfriend’s home to talk about issues pertaining to their shared child’s visitation schedule.

Borum was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree criminal property damage, and firearm offenses after turning over an unregistered handgun and ammunition to police at 4:30 p.m. after the shooting and subsequent reporting. His bail was set at $17,000, and he made his first court appearance on Wednesday. The initial victim was also under investigation after showing up at Borum’s house without warning or invitation, which led to a countercomplaint that is currently being investigated by the County Prosecutor’s Office.
