Ocoee Tragedy, Girlfriend Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Teen’s Fatal Stabbing

According to information released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, an 18-year-old lady was taken into custody months after her boyfriend was fatally stabbed in Ocoee. The victim’s girlfriend at the time, Zoe Nicole Cooper, was arrested in Texas and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Tadarius Marquise Massey, 19. Deputies were called to Health Central Hospital on West Colonial Drive on August 14, where Massey was declared dead, according to a report by ClickOrlando.

Additional research into the circumstances surrounding Massey’s passing has yielded a disturbing account. According to reports, Massey and Cooper got into a fight at his house when he wouldn’t let her use his phone. The man was stabbed multiple times during the altercation, according to information supplied by WESH. Cooper drove him to the hospital, but she didn’t go inside with him. Rather, Cooper brought Massey back to her house after friends drove her to the hospital. Following these incidents, Cooper apologized on social media and seemed to want to switch places with Massey. “… if I could take it back or trade place in a heartbeat I would #LLTD, i love u always I’m truly sorry for what I did it wasn’t supposed to be this way.”

In addition to the fatal stab wounds from the incident, the autopsy report showed previous, healed wounds, indicating that this was not an isolated incidence. Additionally, Massey’s Subway manager’s report revealed a concerning pattern of injuries and abusive conduct, including times when Cooper would watch Massey at work in silence. A report on past fights at Ocoee High School, in which Cooper attacked Massey after being refused access to his phone, was added to this material.
