Off-duty Metro Officer and Wife Fatally Shoot Man Allegedly Strangling Woman in Boulder City

LAS VEGAS (DDN) – An off-duty Metro police officer and his wife shot and killed a guy in their front yard Friday morning, claiming they observed him strangling a lady.

LVMPD Capt. Kurt McKenzie said the incident occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Friday in the 700 block of 6th Street in Boulder City.

The Boulder City Police Department called LVMPD for assistance after a person was discovered deceased in the home’s front yard.

According to authorities, the officer and his wife were inside their home when they heard a “commotion” in their neighbor’s backyard. The cop left his house and discovered a man “mounted” on top of a woman, striking and strangling her. The officer then instructed his wife to contact police as he went into the backyard to separate the man and woman, McKenzie said.
