Oklahoma City Man Pleads Guilty to Falsifying Gun Purchase Form

Oklahoma City resident Tamarion Dejhun Adamson, 30, entered a guilty plea to making a false statement while trying to purchase a firearm. The United States Attorney’s Office claims that on July 22, he attempted to buy a firearm from Sulphur Pawn in Sulphur, Oklahoma, but lied about his criminal background on the necessary federal form.

Adamson lied on ATF Firearms Transaction Record Form 4473 by claiming he had no criminal charges or indictment against him. But at the time, he was actually being charged with felonies in Oklahoma County. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, he was charged with federal crimes for this falsification, which was against the law when it came to buying a handgun.

Adamson’s plea was overseen by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson of the Eastern District of Oklahoma, who mandated that a presentence investigation report be prepared prior to sentencing. The U.S. Marshals Service will hold Adamson until the sentencing hearing. For the United States, the case is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Dean Burris. The sentence date has not yet been made public. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, the initial notification was made in a news release posted on the office’s website on Tuesday.
