Oklahoma Gas Prices See Big Increases, With Some Cities Paying Over $2.70 Per Gallon This Week

DDN – Gasoline prices have risen from a week ago, as crude oil prices remained around $80 per barrel.

According to AAA, Oklahoma had a 13-cent increase in gasoline prices over the last week, rising from $2.58 to $2.71 per gallon this week.

However, GasBuddy discovered gasoline priced at $2.34 a gallon in Ardmore and $2.37 in Oklahoma City.

AAA said that the national average increased by 5 cents this week and 8 cents from a month ago.

Oklahoma City’s average is $2.67, up 14 cents from last week and 23 cents from one month ago.

The Lawton average is $2.66, up from $2.50 last week. Tulsa’s average has likewise risen 16 cents in the past week, to $2.76 per gallon.

Harmon has the lowest county average at $2.62, while Woodward County in the northwest has an average of $2.66.

Coal County in the southeast has the highest county average at $3.05, followed by Dewey County in the northwest at $2.98 and nearby Ellis County at $2.96.

“Domestic gasoline demand is low, so why are pump prices increasing? “Look at the price of oil,” remarked Andrew Gross, AAA spokeswoman. “

Global oil prices have risen due to high winter heating fuel demand and fresh US sanctions on Russia’s energy sector. Oil expenses make up 56% of what you pay at the pump.

As a result, if oil prices rise, so do gas prices. However, for the time being, 26 states have average gas prices below $3 per gallon.
