One Dead, One Injured in Saturday Night Crash Between SUV and Sedan in Little River

DDN – An SUV and a sedan were involved in a collision near Little River, which resulted in the death of one person at the scene and the injury of another person who was taken to the hospital.

A collision between a GMC Acadia and a Honda Accord occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 10:45 p.m., according to Brittany Glover, a lance corporal with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred close to the intersection of U.S. 17 and Mica Avenue. The GMC was heading north when it collided with the Honda, which was heading south at the time of the collision.

According to Glover, the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the GMC was sent to the hospital.

There has been no public disclosure of information regarding the driver who passed away. Neither of the cars contained any passengers with them.

According to a post on social media, Horry County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene of the accident and was required to rescue at least one individual who was trapped inside their respective vehicle.

With assistance from the Horry County Police Department, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation.
