One Killed in SUV Rollover Near Lehi; Causes Three-Mile Traffic Jam on I-15

BLUFFDALE, Uta. (DDN) – A rollover incident that resulted in one fatality has caused traffic from Utah County to Salt Lake County to come to a complete stop.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before noon at the Point of the Mountain, which is located near Bluffdale and Lehi.

According to reports, the incident included many vehicles, including an SUV that rolled over. The driver of that SUV was killed in the incident and died on the spot due to the injuries they acquired. They have not revealed their identify.

Troopers from the Utah Highway Patrol are on the scene and are carrying out a “thorough investigation.” While the inquiry is ongoing, the four right lanes have been closed, and only two lanes are open for entry into Salt Lake County.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the closure is expected to linger for around three hours, with an estimated reopening time of roughly 3 p.m.

According to the online traffic monitor from the Utah Department of Transportation, the incident has resulted in major delays on I-15. Traffic is congested for almost three miles, extending from the Point of the Mountain to past 2100 North.

If it is practicable, commuters are encouraged to take a different route, such as Redwood Road.
