One Teen Dead, Another Injured in Overnight Shooting in Chicago’s Little Village

A tragedy occurred early on Sunday morning in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago when two adolescents were shot, one of them fatally and the other injured. The assault happened at roughly 1:30 a.m. while the victims, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, were standing on a sidewalk in the 2600 block of South Avers Avenue, according to a WGN-TV report.

The older teenager, who is now known as Jesus M. Sanchez from Chicago, was shot in the abdomen. The Chicago Fire Department transported him to a nearby hospital, where he eventually passed away from his wounds. The police discovered at least a dozen round shells near a tree in a nearby grassy area. The younger victim was shot in the back, transported to a hospital, and is said to be in good health.

Area Four investigators are still looking into the shootings, and no one has been arrested in relation to them.
