Orange County Man, 70, Indicted on Charges of Child Sexual Assault

A 70-year-old man from Orange County has been indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a kid under the age of twelve. According to the State Attorney’s Office, the defendant, Kenneth Kafader, was indicted after the charges were formally presented to a grand jury on Wednesday. He is accused of sexual battery on a child (victim under 12 years of age) and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation (victim under 12 years of age).

The event that sparked the indictment, according to the circumstances made public, happened on August 17 after Orlando Police received a report of sexual battery at a residence. The witness claimed to have seen Kafader reach under a child’s nightgown. Kafader was immediately approached by this witness, however he left the area before the police could reach. Following their investigation, officers eventually located Kafader at his home and took him into custody. On Wednesday, the State provided sufficient evidence to persuade a grand jury to indict Kafader on the aforementioned offenses.
