Orlando Man Convicted on Felony Drug Charges, Faces Mandatory 25-Year Sentence

An Orange County jury has convicted Jahkor Jackson, 29, on multiple felony drug charges following the dismantling of his narcotics operation by Orlando Police. According to details from the State Attorney’s Office 9th Judicial Circuit, Jackson, who ran the drug operation from his Orlando home, is facing a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison for one of the charges.

The investigation into Jackson’s illegal activities began with information from a confidential informant in 2021. Police subsequently conducted two undercover purchases of drugs from Jackson. After gathering evidence and establishing probable cause through these controlled buys, Orlando Police carried out a search warrant on Jackson’s residence in the 300 block of Hope Circle. The State Attorney’s Office reported the fentanyl seized from Jackson has an estimated street value of $39,000 and was sufficient to reach nearly 4,000 people.

Attempting to evade arrest during the warrant’s execution, Jackson was seen fleeing the scene and was detained by detectives after a short pursuit. Close to where Jackson was intercepted, two boxes containing crystal meth and 364 grams of fentanyl were discovered. In the trial, jurors were presented with ample evidence linking Jackson to the narcotics, including texts from his phone where he discussed the sale of the drugs.

In the end, after a five-day trial, Jackson stood guilty of all charges, including Trafficking in 28 Grams or More of Fentanyl and two counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamines >200 Grams. Jurors heard testimony and reviewed evidence from OPD’s Special Enforcement Division that solidified Jackson’s involvement in the drug trafficking operation. He is now scheduled for sentencing in December, with the significant fentanyl-related charge alone carrying a mandatory quarter-century behind bars.
