After reportedly abusing a 12-year-old girl who was waiting at a Pasadena bus stop, a Palmdale man was taken into custody on Saturday morning. The suspect, Farris Tollette, 57, sat next to the girl and molested her before riding off on a bicycle, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The incident happened in the 300 block of North Lake Avenue on Wednesday just before 9:30 a.m., according to KTLA.
After the event, the girl, who was scared but not physically hurt, went to school and called her mother, who then informed the police. According to FOX LA, security footage was essential in identifying Tollette as the culprit in the ensuing inquiry. The following Saturday, shortly after 7 a.m., Tollette was arrested and charged with child molestation.
Inmate search records show that Tollette is now being jailed on $150,000 bail. According to NBC Los Angeles, no initial court date has been established. Anyone with more information on the assault is encouraged to come forward and get in touch with the Pasadena Police Department, or they can use the LA Crime Stoppers website or hotline to provide anonymous reports.
