Following a report of a sexual assault that happened last Monday close to the city’s downtown transportation center, Palo Alto Police are looking for a suspect. The event was initially reported to the Newark Police Department on Wednesday, almost a week later, and the perpetrator of this unsettling conduct is still at free.

Around 7:30 p.m., a guy approached a lady in her thirties who was waiting for a bus, according to a news release from the Palo Alto Police Department. After asking her to help translate a conversation, the man led her to a remote woodland line where he forced her to comply and sexually raped her while brandishing a knife clipped to his jeans.

According to the Palo Alto Police Department, the suspect in this attack is a slim black man in his thirties who was wearing a surgical mask, black cargo trousers, and a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the attack.

Police encourage anyone who knows anything about this horrific event to come forward.
