DDN – According to the authorities, a guy from Connecticut died in a crash that occurred in Putnam County on Sunday, January 26.
Michael T. Keller, who was from New Milford, Connecticut, was identified as the victim by the New York State Police.
At around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, police from Troop K arrived at the scene of a two-car crash that occurred on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast.
According to a representative for Troop K, a preliminary investigation found that the driver of the second vehicle, a lady from Mount Vernon, was driving northbound on I-684 “when she lost control of the vehicle.”
The police stated that the woman “struck a guide rail, veered across all lanes of travel, and hit another vehicle” that Keller was driving. After that, both automobiles went off the road, hit the median, flipped over, and finally came to a stop on the center embankment of the highway.
According to the police, the motorist from Mount Vernon was taken to a hospital in Connecticut with minor injuries. Keller was declared deceased at the location.
The police investigation is ongoing.
