Parent Fatally Shot in Country Club Hills School Parking Lot During Basketball Tournament; Suspects Sought

A tragic incident unfolded at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills this past Saturday when a parent was fatally shot in the parking lot during a basketball tournament. The school was hosting a junior high school boys’ basketball event when the violence occurred.

The suspects reportedly blocked the man’s path to his vehicle shortly before 1:10 p.m. as he and his son left the tournament, before shooting him. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.
