According to the police, the passenger in a vehicle that collided with a police cruiser on an icy road in West Haven early on Monday morning has passed away.

The officer who was driving the vehicle that collided with the cruiser and the driver who collided with the cruiser both sustained significant injuries.

According to the police, at approximately 2:20 in the morning, a Hyundai Elantra that was traveling at a high speed lost control on Derby Avenue, drove off the road, spun sideways in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station, and collided with a police vehicle that was parked.

According to the police, the officer who was driving the Hyundai sustained a major head injury, and both the driver and the passenger of the Hyundai were victims of significant injuries.

According to the authorities, all of them were sent to nearby hospitals, but the passenger ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

In their statement, they stated that it is anticipated that both the injured police officer and the driver of the Hyundai will recover from their injuries.

The investigation is being conducted by the West Haven Major Accident Squad.
