A disturbing scene unfolded in a Fairfield mall parking lot when a pedestrian was run over multiple times and killed by a driver yesterday morning. The Fairfield Police reported to

that the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the Solano Town Center’s northside parking lot.
The driver, 25-year-old Vakautakava Tangitau, was behind the wheel of a white Dodge pickup truck at the time of the lethal event. After striking the pedestrian, he reportedly drove over the victim several times before fleeing the site. The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries on the scene.

, authorities mentioned that a witness observed the incident and followed Tangitau while contacting the police. Based on this alert, officers were able to intervene and apprehend Tangitau in the 800 block of East Tabor Avenue.
The Fairfield Police Department recognized Tangitau from previous mental health-related calls. He has been booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of murder, as per the information provided by
