Pedestrian Killed Crossing North Freeway in Houston Driver Remains at Scene, Investigation Ongoing

DDN – A person was killed while crossing the southbound lanes of the North Freeway near Cavalcade Street in North Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The crash occurred at 8:34 p.m. on Saturday, when the guy attempted to cross the freeway from east to west from the HOV lane. According to investigators, this occurred when the individual was struck by a vehicle.

First responders from the Houston Fire Department pronounced the individual dead on the scene.

According to HPD, the driver of the vehicle pulled over and remained at the site.

According to police, the driver stated that they were unable to prevent the collision because the man emerged on the road unexpectedly. According to investigators, it’s unknown why the man attempted to cross the roadway.

HPD verified that no other injuries were reported.

This incident is still under investigation. Currently, no charges have been filed.
