Two people were arrested in a recent Petaluma Police operation for a string of thefts, including one that occurred at the Petaluma Factory Outlets. The individuals apprehended in the act were Nichole Borquez, 34, of San Jose, and Tracy Blanchard, 48, of San Francisco. The incident happened on November 7, according to a social media post from the Petaluma Police Department.
Responding officers arrived at the scene after receiving a report of shoplifting. It didn’t take long to identify Blanchard and Borquez as possible culprits. Blanchard was discovered with a concealed switchblade and brass knuckles during the investigation. In addition to the $200 worth of stolen goods from the stores, a meth pipe, suspected methamphetamine, and other items thought to have been stolen from Staples were found in the suspects’ car.
Blanchard is now charged with possessing a switchblade, brass knuckles, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia as a result of the discovery. Due to his conduct, Borquez was charged with shoplifting and arrested for an outstanding warrant. As part of their thorough investigation, the police examined security footage to verify that the items in the car were, in fact, stolen from Staples. The accusations against Borquez and Blanchard were upgraded to felony grand theft and a count of conspiracy to conduct a crime because the recovered goods were worth more than $3500.
Both individuals were booked into the Sonoma County Jail after their arrest.
