Pflugerville Launches Innovative Multi-Sport Court at Stone Hill Park through Austin FC Collaboration

In Pflugerville, an enclave not far from the Austin metropolis, community sports enthusiasts have a new reason to cheer. The city recently unveiled a cutting-edge multi-sport court that’s now up and running at Stone Hill Park. This novel sports facility allows players to engage in both basketball and soccer — and potentially much more.

The innovative multi-sport court is the result of a collaboration among the city of Pflugerville, the local professional soccer team Austin FC, and the ATX Foundation. Its pièce de résistance? But don’t let the straightforwardness of basketball and soccer be the end all be all, this court comes emblazoned with an elaborate mural that extends the invitation to inventiveness. “This court is designed functionally to allow many sports to play on it, including basketball and soccer. But a lot of the designs can be made up into their own game – so we have little circles that might become a hot game. We might have lines that kids can run around and trail or chase each other on,” artist Emily Eisenhart articulated in a statement obtained by

Open to the public, the multi-sport court is not just a testament to the city’s investment in recreational infrastructure but also is a clear nod to inclusivity and community engagement. Spanning generations, the space is designed for all ages to take advantage of Pflugerville’s newest addition to its public parks. If nothing else, this innovative hub promises to be a convergence point where physical activity, and joyous competition find a common playground.
