In an effort to combat the pressing issue of homelessness affecting families in Phoenix, the city has partnered with local organization UMOM to create nearly a hundred new shelter beds, transforming former office space into 20 units with 96 beds.

Councilwoman Kesha Hodge Washington shared this sentiment, remarking that more than just a building, the new shelter represents opportunities and beginnings for the women and families it will serve.
