Pierce County Unveils 2025 Art Grant Program to Boost Nonprofits and Cultural Accessibility

Pierce County is giving local organizations outside of Tacoma city limits an opportunity to increase access to the arts by opening its 2025 Art Grant program on December 2. According to Pierce County’s official statement, the funding intends to close cultural gaps by increasing art instruction and opportunities for adolescents and marginalized groups in unincorporated areas of the county.

The requirements for eligibility are clear: applicants must serve underserved or lower-income youth, and programs must be scheduled between January 1 and December 31, 2025. However, applications will only be accepted until 2 p.m. on January 21, 2025, so there is no time to lose for those who are keen to receive a portion of the financial rewards, which range from $500 to $5,000 per award. On December 10 at 3 p.m., a virtual workshop will be conducted to help streamline the application procedure.

Since 1986, the county’s Arts Commission has supported the region’s cultural enrichment, according to the announcement on the county’s website. In 2023 alone, the commission awarded nearly $27,000 to seven projects, affecting the lives of over 9,100 youths and accumulating 17,000 hours of artistic engagement and education.

To learn more about the Art Grant program and to sign up for the next workshop, interested parties should go to the website.
