POLICE Allentown Man Stabbed Woman in the Abdomen and Held Her Captive for Days (2)

ALLENTOWN, Pa (DDN) – According to authorities, an Allentown man has been charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment after reportedly stabbing a woman and keeping her from leaving their residence for many days.

Frederick Edwards, 58, was charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment of a person over 18, simple assault, and harassment, according to a press statement.

According to the news release, Allentown EMS was dispatched to the Sterling Hotel at 343 W. Hamilton Street at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday due to a suspected stabbing.

Police and paramedics discovered a 59-year-old lady with an apparent stab wound to the abdomen, according to officials.

According to Allentown police, the woman reported that about three days previously, after a verbal disagreement with her boyfriend, he stabbed her in the abdomen as she attempted to leave the apartment.

According to the announcement, the victim said that her partner blocked her from leaving the apartment to seek medical assistance for several days after the incident.

The investigation is underway.
