ATLANTA – After months on the run, a 20-year-old man listed as one of Atlanta’s Most Wanted has been captured. Corey Comer was taken into custody on Friday, facing charges connected to two deadly shootings that occurred over the past year.
Two Tragic Incidents
The first shooting took place on May 6 at Cleveland Avenue Park, a 6-acre park located at 47 Cleveland Avenue SW. Around 4:30 p.m., Atlanta Police responded to reports of gunfire and found a 37-year-old man critically injured. The victim was rushed to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he later died.
The second incident occurred on November 17 at approximately 1:22 p.m. Officers were dispatched to 183 Mount Zion Road SE following reports of another shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a 17-year-old male who had been fatally shot. Tragically, the young victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The Investigation and Arrest
After thorough investigations, Comer was identified as the prime suspect in both cases. Authorities charged him with several serious offenses, including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Comer had been on Atlanta’s Most Wanted list since November, with law enforcement agencies working tirelessly to locate him. On Friday, those efforts paid off, and Comer was taken into custody. He has since been booked into the Fulton County Jail.
