Local police are currently looking into a 12-year-old girl’s complaint of being sexually assaulted as she was waiting at a Pasadena bus stop. According to NBC Los Angeles, the attack happened early on Wednesday morning in the 300 block of North Lake Avenue, close to the Metro Lake Avenue station.
A male in his 30s reportedly approached the girl, sat next to her, and assaulted her, according to the KTLA story. Following the event, the suspect allegedly rode off on a bicycle, leaving the bus bench and heading south. The toddler was disturbed by the event, but not physically hurt, according to Lt. Monica Cuellar of the Pasadena Police Department.
After receiving a call on the incident on Wednesday morning, the Pasadena Police Department has not yet provided more details about the attacker or the specifics of the assault. According to police statements received by ABC7, the suspect was last seen leaving the scene wearing black sweatpants and a long-sleeved jacket.
After the attack, the 12-year-old Pasadena resident was able to get on her bus and immediately informed school officials about the experience. When the event was reported just before 9:30 a.m., the police launched an investigation right away, according to KTLA.
