A late-night incident at a bar in Portland’s Kerns neighborhood resulted in a man being seriously injured after a physical altercation. According to thePortland Police Bureau, last Friday, just before midnight, Central Precinct officers were called to the scene on the 2600 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard, arriving to discover a male victim with severe neck injuries from an apparent stabbing.

The police, who provided immediate aid to the afflicted individual, also gathered information about the suspect, who had reportedly just exited the premises, and their prompt search led to an arrest within minutes, two blocks west of the location. The victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and his injuries, while serious, are not expected to be fatal, with the man now under hospital care.

Abraham Bravo, a 28-year-old Portland resident, has been named as the suspect in custody, now facing second-degree assault charges along with an outstanding arrest warrant. Major Crimes Unit detectives are actively engaged in the ongoing investigation, per the police statement.

Initial findings suggest the suspect attacked the victim using a glass, causing it to break and inflicting the neck wounds, the police department detailed the sequence of events, they are still looking into the circumstances that led up to the altercation.
