Raleigh Parks’ most recent “Did You Know” film showcases the continuous work being done to preserve Walnut Creek Athletic Complex, one of the city’s most important sports facilities. According to the City of Raleigh release, visitors get an inside peek at the daily work needed to keep the complex in top condition from Brett Embler, the Natural Resources and Parks Crew Supervisor.
Embler oversees a small group of three full-time employees who put in a lot of effort every day to keep the fields in good condition. They have to mow the outfields using specialized equipment, outline the fields, and level the playing grounds. “We want every visitor to Walnut Creek to have an excellent experience,” Embler stated in the same press statement.
The difficulties of running sports complexes like Walnut Creek are also highlighted in the video. Whether it’s a toddler playing for the first time or an adult returning for a league game, Embler says it’s satisfying to see people enjoying the fields and the well-maintained facilities.
