Raleigh Weather Report: Sunny Days Ahead with Potential Thanksgiving Showers, Says NWS

With the exception of possible showers on Thanksgiving Day, the National Weather Service (NWS) has a clear and bright forecast for Raleigh in the days ahead. The weather for today is expected to be sunny with a high of roughly 61 degrees and northwest winds that can reach 7 to 14 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph. The current temperature is 42 degrees Fahrenheit, but the wind chill is a little colder, making it feel like 38 degrees.

The outlook for tonight calls for a continuation of the clear sky pattern, with a mild west breeze and a low temperature of about 37 degrees. Although there is a risk of patchy frost before 8 a.m. on Sunday, the rest of the day is expected to be bright and sunny, with highs that approach 65 degrees and southwest breezes that remain moderate at 5 to 8 mph. As the temperature drops to a low of about 40 degrees in the evening, the sky are expected to stay largely clear.

The NWS predicts a clear, bright sky on Monday with temperatures rising to a comfortable high of about 68 degrees. The southwest breezes are predicted to blow gently between three and six miles per hour. As night falls, there is “a chance of sprinkles with a slight chance of showers after 1am,” but this does not appear to have a major impact on the otherwise partly overcast night, which has a low of about 54 degrees and a 20% probability of precipitation.

The early part of the week is expected to be moderate for those getting ready for Thanksgiving, with Tuesday seeing largely sunny skies and another high in the upper 60s, but with “a chance of sprinkles before 1pm.” Clearer skies and a low of about 37 degrees are expected to return on Tuesday night. But by Thanksgiving Day itself, with highs predicted to be close to 58 degrees and a 40% chance of precipitation, conditions might become tense. With the temperature hovering around 42 degrees, showers seem likely on Thursday night. Showers may still be a possibility the next day, although sunshine is expected to predominate with another high of about 54 and a 30% probability of precipitation.
