Raleigh’s Pullen Park Seeks Over 500 Volunteers for Festive Holiday Express Event

It’s that time of year again–Pullen Park is putting out the call for over 500 volunteers to help bring the Holiday Express event to life, a Raleigh Parks initiative that’s quickly becoming as synonymous with the holidays as leaving cookies out for Santa. The events aim to sprinkle a little festive spirit over the community and are a prime chance for folks to volunteer in a setting that’s a veritable beacon of holiday cheer.

Raleigh Parks is calling for volunteers to help spread holiday cheer this season. From Dec. 2 to Dec. 18, with an extension available until Dec. 22, volunteers aged 15 and older can assist in holiday festivities, including running games, coordinating activities, and supporting Santa’s visit. Shifts run from 4 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on most nights.

And for those who prefer a gentler take on the holiday bustle, Pullen Park will host sensory-friendly sessions of the Holiday Express on Dec. 7 and Dec. 15, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. These sessions, designed for individuals with special needs or sensory sensitivities, will feature dimmed lights and softer music while keeping the joy alive with crafts, Santa visits, and sparkling lights.
