New book “Food Americana” will be published on Tuesday: Emmy winner David Page (producer and creator of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”) wrote “Food Americana”. The new book, out Tuesday, covers multiple stories from Michigan, including Detroit-style pizza, the birth of chain pizza stores, and classic restaurants like Detroit’s London Chop House.
Lincoln gives Marrow a break: As part of its “Rest Week” campaign to help small businesses, the Lincoln auto company paid a week off for employees at Marrow Restaurant in Detroit last month. Lincoln made sure that the crew paid for their free time and also covered the cost of operating for a week. On the last day of her week off, Lincoln bought the staff dinner at the Apparatus Room in Detroit and delivered it to Marrow for a family dinner. The restaurant is featured in the Lincoln ads that run on their social media channels.
