(CBS DETROIT)After a landlord-tenant argument on Tuesday degenerated into a deadly shooting, a retired Detroit officer was taken into custody.
The incident took place inside a house in the 15900 block of Kentfield Street at approximately 2:10 p.m.
The victim, who was in his 40s, was shot several times, according to Deputy Chief Jacqueline Pritchett, and after being transported to the hospital, he passed away from his wounds.
According to Pritchett, a guy in his 50s who retired from the Detroit Police Department eight years ago was identified as the shooter, who was the landlord. Police will submit a warrant to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office after recovering a handgun.
According to Pritchett, police did not find a weapon on the victim.
There is an investigation going on.
