Rivers Casino Dealer Charged With Fraudulent Dealing, Pittsburgh Casino Faces Trust Issues

A Rivers Casino table games dealer has been charged with orchestrating a string of fraudulent blackjack games, which police say resulted in the loss of nearly $22,000 over seven days. According to

, Jamie Smith, who dealt 192 hands incorrectly, is accused of overpaying or failing to collect losing bets.

The investigation, led by the Pennsylvania State Police, revealed through video surveillance that Smith worked for 31 hours between Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, during which she failed to collect money on losing bets and overpaid some patrons, never collected monies from losing bets, amongst several other discrepancies that led to a significant monetary loss for the casino and ultimately led to Smith’s arrest last Friday, when she arrived at work, she was apprehended and transported to the Allegheny County Jail for processing.

reported that Smith is now facing a preliminary hearing that is expected to occur later this month.
