Rollover Crash on Highway 95 Leaves One Dead, Another Critically Injured Near Arcadia Lane

FORT MOHAVE (DDN) – A rollover collision at Arcadia Lane and Highway 95 on Monday morning left one person dead and another critically injured.

The accident was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20. According to law enforcement officers on the scene, a southbound red vehicle collided with a medical transport van near the intersection of Highway 95 and Dunlap Road, losing control and crossing the center median into northbound lanes before returning to southbound lanes.

The truck then veered off the road, hitting the soft shoulder and rolling into a desert region.

According to Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department Btn. Chief Richard Ballard, the red truck was carrying two patients.

One patient was reportedly killed on the scene, while the other was taken to Valley View Medical Center with severe injuries. CareFlight was first requested, however the helicopter was unable to fly due to severe winds.

The solitary person in the medical vehicle refused to be transported to the hospital.

The Department of Public Safety, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the Arizona Department of Transportation, and fire and medical units from Fort Mojave Mesa all responded.

Traffic on southbound Highway 95 was redirected west onto Dunlap Road, resulting in a backup to Corwin Road. Northbound traffic on Highway 95 was restricted to the outside lane.

According to a statement issued by the DPS Duty Office, the crash remains under investigation.
