Roosevelt Island Community and Distressed Family Seek Missing 21-Year-Old Markeysha Sadlier

The community of Roosevelt Island, along with a distressed family, is actively searching for 21-year-old Markeysha Sadlier who went missing last Friday, just one day after Halloween celebrations. According to

NBC New York

, the young woman, who has autism and has been without her crucial medication since disappearing, is the adopted daughter of Dan and Amanda Sadlier, known for running a local soup kitchen and serving as pastors.

An interview by

revealed both Markeysha’s parents fear she might have been lured away, likely in association with someone she had been messaging online the day before her disappearance. Dan Sadlier stated, “We are nervous and somewhat worried that she was lured away.” In her usual routines, his daughter would not have purposefully left her cell phone or exited their apartment without mentioning it to anyone, including her siblings.

The NYPD has confirmed that they are investigating Markeysha’s disappearance, as the family continues to desperately post flyers and scour the neighborhood for any sign of her. The Sadliers are hoping that New York’s citizens will aid in locating their daughter, emphasizing her distinctive appearance and urging people to “memorize her face and just be looking for her,” Amanda Sadlier said in a plea obtained by NBC New York.

According to reports from PIX11 News, there was a potential lead with Markeysha’s metro card, which had been swiped twice on Friday. However, there has been no trace of her since then. The family and investigators have shared that she was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue jacket, white sneakers, and a brown purse. Information about Markeysha’s whereabouts is of vital importance and anyone with it is asked to call the police. The parents have echoed their deep concern for Markeysha, who they describe as “a gift for thousands of people in this city and beyond,” according to Dan Sadlier’s statement to NBC New York.
