that at approximately 9 a.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an unresponsive man who had been tased by a security guard during an attempted detention.

Initial findings suggest that the confrontation occurred in a parking lot on the 2700 block of Fulton Avenue. According to officials, the man, then sitting in a parked car, was approached by security guards who wanted to detain him. In the attempt to handcuff the resisting man, a security guard deployed a taser, following which the man became unresponsive. The Sheriff’s Office clarified that, despite the tragic outcome, the case is not under criminal investigation at the moment. Attempts by security to detain the man led to his unfortunate death.
