Sacramento Man Sentenced for Child Molestation, Threatened to Kill Family Members if Revealed Abuse

Sacramento, CA – A 55-year-old man was sentenced in Sacramento County for doing lewd actions on a kid over several months, according to the district attorney’s office. The man reportedly threatened to kill the child’s family if they revealed anything.

Alfred Tribbey was sentenced to 98 years in jail on Friday.

According to the district attorney’s office, Tribbey began assaulting a 10-year-old child in 2020, threatening to kill her and her family if she did not remain silent.

According to officials, the abuse ceased when Tribbey was detected by a victim’s family member.

Tribbey was found guilty by a jury last month of nine charges of forcible lewd acts on a child and one count of lewd act on a child, according to the district attorney’s office. Several aggravating circumstances were also discovered to be true, including the fact that Tribbey took advantage of a position of trust, the crimes entailed violence and significant bodily harm, and the manner in which the crimes were carried out suggested forethought.

Because of his age, the district attorney’s office stated that Tribbey would be eligible for release at an older parole hearing after serving only 20 years of his 98-year jail term. Because he had previously been in detention for three years, he would be eligible in around 17 years.
