San Diego Airports Join Forces with Toys for Tots to Spread Holiday Cheer to Local Children

The season of giving has swung back around in San Diego County, and with it, the annual Toys for Tots campaign is taking flight at local airports. In collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps and the County of San Diego, five airports have become collection points for new, unwrapped toys destined to bring joy to children’s faces across the community this holiday season.

With the season buzzing, anyone looking to contribute to the festive cheer can simply drop their donations in one of the Toys for Tots collection boxes conveniently located across the five-county airports listed. The initiative will run until December 14, offering ample time for would-be Santa’s helpers to participate in the charitable action. The participating airports include McClellan Airport in Carlsbad, Gillespie Field in El Cajon, Fallbrook Airpark in Fallbrook, Ramona Airport in Ramona, and Borrego Valley Airport in Borrego Springs.

Donors are encouraged to think of the wide-eyed wonder a new toy can bring and consider donating items such as bikes, games, dolls, stuffed animals, and other toys that will help make a child’s holiday brighter. Uniformed Marines will be participating in the campaign, standing ready to accept donations at special events hosted by Fallbrook Airpark and Ramona Airport in December the first scheduled for December 7 at Ramona Airport and the second on December 14 at Fallbrook Airpark, both running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
