San Francisco Police Arrest Oakland Man for Narcotics Trafficking, Two Others Charged in Bay Area Crackdown

Multiple arrests have been made by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) after their Narcotics Unit completed a thorough investigation. Roger Ortiz, 30, of Oakland, was arrested in San Francisco on suspicion of trafficking in drugs, according to a recent SFPD report. After establishing probable cause for Ortiz’s arrest, officers arrested him Tuesday near Fulton and Larkin Streets. Ortiz was discovered in possession of a digital scale, cash thought to have come from the sale of drugs, and probable fentanyl when he was arrested.

After Ortiz was arrested, the Narcotics Unit, with the help of SFPD Plainclothes Teams from Tenderloin Station and other local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, carried out a search warrant at the suspect’s Oakland home. The joint enforcement activity resulted in the seizure of more U.S. money, cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. At the site, two more people were taken into custody: Oakland residents David Romero-Bustillo and Aris Escoto. According to the San Francisco Police Department, Escoto, a known 32-year-old drug trafficker, and Romero-Bustillo, 20, are currently facing a number of charges, including conspiracy and possession for sale of a controlled substance.

Following their apprehension, the defendants were charged with a number of offenses, including conspiracy to commit a crime, operating or maintaining a drug house, and possession for sale of controlled narcotics. They were then lodged into the San Francisco County Jail.
