San Jacinto Woman Dies from Injuries Following Traffic Collision; Investigation Underway

A pedestrian, who has not been named, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic collision after being hit by a vehicle on October 30 in San Jacinto,

according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office

. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Street and Dillon Avenue around 12:29 p.m., where deputies responded to the scene. Initially found unresponsive, the woman was transported to a local hospital following the incident where she had been pushing a child in a stroller at the time of the collision.

The San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station advised that the woman unfortunately died yesterday due to injuries received in the collision, which involved the pedestrian in an unmarked crosswalk at the time of the accident the driver had been stopped at a stop sign before proceeding to make the turn that led to the incident. The child involved was not injured and the driver remained on scene, cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Contributing to the complexity of the investigation, the San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team has been meticulously processing the scene and gathering evidence which led to the temporary closure of the intersection. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until family members are notified, with the Sheriff’s Office stating criminal charges may be considered pending the full outcome of their inquiries.
