NEWBERRY, S.C. (DDN) – A school bus and a vehicle collided Thursday morning in Newberry County, requiring the transport of approximately 20 students to the hospital as a precaution.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Highway 76 and Airport Road, just north of Newberry.

According to Trooper Brandon Bolt, the bus had just completed a pickup and was pulling away when it was slammed in the rear by a tractor-trailer.
