Authorities are currently searching for a suspect and vehicle involved in a shooting and hit-and-run incident that took place on North Kingshighway Blvd and Enright Ave. At around 4:10 p.m. last Tuesday, according to theSt. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a silver Chevy Equinox rear-ended a Ford F-150. The series of events rapidly escalated when the driver of the Equinox, described as an unknown black male, engaged in a brief exchange with the Ford driver, inquiring about his well-being before resorting to gunfire.

Directly after asking the Ford’s driver if he was okay, the suspect proceeded to abruptly fire shots into the Ford. He then made a quick getaway, leaving the scene before authorities arrived. “The driver of the Ford was not injured during the incident,” theSLMPDnoted. However, the hunt continues to catch the individual who felt the need to recklessly escalate an otherwise standard traffic accident into an armed confrontation.

Fifth District detectives are actively seeking tips that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect. The police have released photos of the Chevy Equinox in hopes that the public can offer assistance in tracking down the vehicle and its driver. The images disseminated by the department show a silver SUV, which is at the center of this investigation.
