Second Suspect Indicted in String of Robberies Across Polk, Marion, and Hillsborough Counties

A second man has been indicted in connection with a spate of robberies across Polk, Marion, and Hillsborough counties. The

Department of Justice

has announced the charges against 23-year-old Ron Yarde of Hillsborough for his role in a conspiracy to commit robberies, as defined by the Hobbs Act. Yarde faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison if convicted.

Previously indicted was Malcolm Green on September 12, who like his alleged accomplice Yarde, is awaiting trial and could face a minimum sentence of seven years, to the possibility of life, behind bars. The Department of Justice claims that between May 27 and July 27, the duo, with another unnamed co-conspirator, were responsible for robbing several establishments, including a convenience store, a drug store, and retail outlets in Brooksville, Ocala, and Tampa.

At the time of these alleged crimes, it is worth noting that Yarde was on state probation. His previous offenses included serious charges like aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, burglary, grand theft, and carrying a concealed firearm. With this latest development, his criminal record seems to have been compounded further.

The investigation, led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, has resulted in the charges handed down to Yarde. The Assistant United States Attorney Diego F. Novaes, tasked with prosecuting the case, is likely preparing as Yarde awaits his day in court.
