Semi-Truck Plunges Off Overpass in Dallas; Driver Dead after Truck Caught Fire after Crash

DALLAS, Tex. (DDN) – At approximately 1:30 in the am on Sunday, a semi-truck driver was attempting to avoid a collision on Interstate 20 at Highway 310 when he veered off the lane, crossed the guardrail, and then fell onto the roadway below. In the collision, the semi-truck caught fire, and the driver was killed in the accident.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office deputies have stated that they believe the semi-truck diverted off the highway in order to avoid a collision that was already occurring in that region. The truck was traveling in an easterly direction.

Following the collision with the guardrail, the semi-truck came to rest on a trailer that was parked beneath the bridge.

There was a fire in the semi after the crash. According to the deputies, the driver passed away as a result of the collision.
