, that the accident pulled down its lines along with six poles between Ulukahiki and Uluoa streets. The recovery operation necessitated the temporary closure of the Kailua-bound lanes, but traffic was partially restored when the left lane reopened at 4:30 p.m. However, to facilitate overnight repairs, further closures were planned, potentially impacting services for the Kailua, Waimanalo, and Hawaii Kai customers.

Rheanna Stancil-Williams, whose home suffered damage in the mishap, recounted the fortunate timing of the incident. “We were actually just coming home from Windward Mall, and as we were coming up Kailua Road, we noticed the poles down by the park. And then as we passed, we noticed the pole on our house,” Stancil-Williams told
